re-wire was founded in late 2009 by double award winning entrepreneur, Douglas Shand.

Douglas has spent over 20 years working at the cutting edge of techology in four continents and dozens of countries. He has worked with blue chip organisations in the financial services and security sectors and consulted for the largest global technology companies. Douglas has ran several start-up ventures and has worked as a consultant for Venture Capital Companies, private investors and techology start-up companies. He was at the heart of the first dot com boom and wants to use his skills and experience to build a new generation of entrepreneurs.

Douglas is to working with education providers, teachers, the government and local education departments to make re-wire interesting for young people, relevant to business and beneficial to parents and teachers.

Scotland has a long and distinguished history of technical innovation and Douglas and his team at re-wire hope to inspire a new generation.
