Intelligent Objects

This course shows students how to use computer software to control real world objects such as electronics, robot components and communications devices which use bluetooth and wireless technology.

Students will use programming tools such as the Processing programming language and hardware devices such as the Arduino micro-controller. Once the high level principles have been taught students will be able to work on a project to completion. Students will learn how to interact with physical devices and how to combine software, hardware and other objects to produce working devices.

Once projects have been completed students will consider how to turn their projects into working prototypes suitable for manufacture.

Students will look at the business models of successful companies in this
market and be given an introduction to entrepreneurial skills necessary to succeed in this space.
